Ch Doonrae Joie de Vivre
'Logan' 21.02.2009 - 04.05.2020
Logan was born on 21.02.09, and she was our first home bred champion, her kennel name is Doonrae Joie de Vivre. She was a real character, full of mischief and certainly the matriarch of the household, nobody messed with Logan and she kept everyone in check. She loved people, but wasn't always keen on dogs she didn’t know, but she was perfectly behaved in the show ring (almost). Her favourite pastime was fetching a tennis ball & as she got older snoozing on the back of the sofa. She always would remind us it was dinner time by her low growling, even if it was 5 minutes late! Just editing this a week after losing Logan to a short illness, our hearts are broken & not a day goes by when we don't think about her.

'Tawnie'
Tawnie is a lovable rogue, Logans daughter from her first litter, her DOB is 30/11/2011
Named lovingly by my daughter as her characteristics as a puppy somewhat resembled those of a Tawny Owl! Tawnie is our 2nd home bred champion.
Her character is that of a TRUE Cairn Terrier, loving and doting to her humans, however the slightest scent of vermin in the air sends Tawnie into a complete frenzy, she is a true huntress at heart. I have updated her photo to one taken recently after a haircut, Tawnie will be 11 years old later this year.

Skye is Tawnie’s daughter from her 2nd litter; she was born on 10/2/2017 & she was the only girl in a litter of 5. She is a real sweetheart and loved cuddles, if we ignore her she will get right into your face or will headbutt you until she gets tummy tickles. She is very good with other dogs and people but is a real hunter, and relentlessly chases birds, squirrels and cats from the garden. Skye only produced one puppy as she had problems getting pregnant, so she is now neutered & will live the rest of her life with us as pet.

'Harley'
Harley is Tawnie’s son from her third & final litter; born on 12/7/2018, he came from a litter of 3 boys. Harley has boundless energy, & never seems to tire, he if father to our youngest family member Hugo. He can be quite vocal when he gets excited, he loves walks but doesn’t like it when the weather is too hot, he just lies down and refuses to move. He is a natural showman and in September 2019 won his first RCC, we are hoping this trend continues. He is a very loving boy and loves his cuddles. Due to Covid, Harley's show career was cut short, he now lives with friends nearby, where he is referred to as 'Lord Harley' and is loved and spoilt

'Dory'

Dory was bred by our dog show companion, Brenda, as I didn’t have a dog to show at the time and I liked her when I visited to help groom her dogs, Dory was born on 27/4/2016, we acquired her with the intention of having a bit of fun in the show ring, she is now a Champion! Her character is very playful and a bit silly, Dory is a good name for her, and like Dory in the Disney film Finding Nemo her attention span is limited. She also loves a tennis ball, and will steal it from the others given the chance. She has real a sweet nature and gets on with everyone (unless they try stealing her ball). Dory now lives in Norfolk with her companion, Freddie

'Tilda'

Tilda was born in Sweden and bred by Mats Lindborg & Elisabeth Nordstrand, her date of birth is 30/11/2019, after I judged in Sweden & was impressed by the lovely Cairns over there, we had asked Mats if he had a litter to let us know, we particularly liked a dog named Kalan Kingsburgh who was bred and successfully shown in Australia then campaigned in Sweden & many Scandinavian countries where he became a Champion, he has sired many champions, this dog is Tilda's maternal grandfather & her sire is Ch Goldpenny's Adonis (pet name Bosse, who I gave Best in Show in Sweden). Tilda has settled well since she arrived with us in June 2020, we hope to do some showing with her next year if shows are allowed to run. She has a sweet nature and loves playing with everyone.

'Hugo'
Hugo is approx 18 months old here in the photo, he is sired by Harley & his mother is Dory, we are hoping he will go on to do well in the show ring, his first attempt in January 2022 was ok, he was well behaved and came 3rd. He has since gained in confidence and has had some nice wins at shows, and just editing this section I can say that Hugo now has 4 CC's & 2 RCC's so he is officially a Champion!. Hugo is a real character, he has a lovely nature, he is very intelligent and can be quite sensitive. We can see characteristics from both his parents, on his sire's side he comes down from our first ever Champion Becky (Cannwood Kasta Spell at Doonrae). Pepper was born on Valentine's Day 2023, her mum is Tilda and her dad is Hugo, she was a quiet puppy, but she has now found her voice and attitude. Like her dad she has been slow to mature, but she is certainly turning into a swan from a bit of an ugly ducking! She bosses everyone around but her mum does put her in her place every now and again. 1st at Crufts was confirmation that her show career in on track, as she did well last year at Driffield Champ show but then I stripped out her puppy coat so we have been waiting for that to come through. keep an eye on the blog pages for more updates on this lovely girls progress.
