Mum & Babies Updates

As you can probably see from the photo of Tilda wearing a baby grow with the babies, things haven't been a smooth ride this last couple of weeks. On Sunday (the day after the birth) Tilda wasn't herself, and when I checked her temperature it was worryingly high, so a quick trip to the vet confirmed that she had an infection of the uterus, antibiotics given along with a couple of other things to bring down her temperature, after a worrying night there was little improvement so the next morning she was admitted to the vets & stayed in for 2 days, she's made a good recovery, but obviously that meant we had to take over the role of feeding and cleaning the puppies full time, Tilda's strong medication meant she couldn't feed them any more. It's been a rollercoaster ride this last 2 weeks, and 2 of the puppies became ill earlier this week, another vets visit, one was kept in for a few hours, he is now home and both seem to have turned a corner, hopefully they will all continue to thrive. We are running on adrenaline here, with night feeds and 7 to feed but as long as the puppies and Tilda are ok that's all that matters. I will update more when I have time, which is at a premium as you can imagine.

That sounds like a worrying time. I hope Tilda and the pups continue to do well with their recovery.
